Aero-Medical Evacuation Team deployed in Guinea

04/03/15 Sovereign Global France (SG F) has expanded its service lines to the medical support in complex environments.In consortium with SOS Medecin Senegal, SGF has just won a 12-month United Nations contract providing the United Nations Mission for Ebola Emergency Response (UNMEER) with aerial medical evacuation capacities from Conakry airport (Guinea).
SG F provides this Francophone consortium with its expertise in complex project management, its knowledge and command of the UN processes, its financing capacities as well as some medical manpower. A leading expert in medical evacuation and disaster medicine SOS Medecin Senegal, leader of the consortium, delivers the medical expertise and the medical supplies. Its president, Dr Massamba Sassoum DIOP, supervises the Aero-Medical Evacuation Team on the ground in Guinea.
The team has been approved by the United Nations on March 2nd and is currently deployed in Conakry with 2 doctors, 4 nurses and 1 aerotechnical technician. In a permanent state of alert the AMET is capable of upgrading any type of plane to an aerial medical evacuation platform in less than 30 minutes. The plane will then take off half an hour later to evacuate patients to Ghana, Senegal, Cote d’Ivoire, Morocco and Egypt.
SG F will pursue its development in the provision of medical support services in complex environments, notably through its partnership with SOS Medecin Senegal.
